Hello hello again! It's me abby from Media Mirage here with another post. Today I learned about different types of shots and how they create a different type of mood based on the angle. I was tasked to create some shots of my own and this is how it went:
1. Medium Shot
The first shot I attempted to do was a medium shot and it was kind of hard to prop my camera as a place where it will be considered a mid shot, but I fortunately found some strong double sided tape that I used to stick my camera in the corner of the room. And I think the shot turned out pretty well, aside from the quality.
2. Low Angle Shot
The low angle shot here was done by putting my camera on an elevated stand so that my body and face was still in the shot but my focus is still on the cards. However the card game is still not visible, creating a question and a mystery behind it. This shot was a little easier to film compared to the medium shot since I didn't have to stick it anywhere.
3. Bird's Eye View
Aha! The game is revealed, it appears the subject is playing a game of solitare. (A bad one at that) This bird's eye shot was done by using some thick double-sided tape and jumping on my bed so the camera will stick on the ceiling. It was by far probably the hardest angle I had to shoot.
4. Point of View Shot
It seems the game of solitaire is still continuing and a stalemate seems to be in the works. I cannot imagine how I looked like when I was filming this with my camera to my chest to emulate the point of view shot, this was definitely the second hardest angle to film, my hands were shaking throughout the entirety of filming.
5. Extreme Close Up Shot
Looks like the card player is running out of options as she looks though the deck for any kind of cards to use for solitaire. Making this shot was pretty fun, I love seeing the camera zoom in and get the tiny details for the close up shots and it was really fun seeing the cards flip from such a close perspective. Definitely the easiest angle to film.
Anyways, those were all of the shots I did, I hope you enjoyed learning and seeing my shots as much as I enjoyed creating them. Until next time!
xoxo,
