My group is trying to emulate a 50s-esque movie with a horrific twist to make the reveal more surprising as you would never expect a 50s traditional wife to be a killer. Using such bright and vibrant colors makes it seem like a rom-com until you see the symbolism of red throughout the scenes, subtle but you can tell its meaning. For example, we can use the cherry pie that she makes as a symbol of her victim’s blood, or the use of such big knives to display that the wife isn’t who she says she is.
The majority of the setting is the kitchen which displays her baking a pie waiting for her husband to come back. Where she is seen, rolling out the dough, making the cherry pie sauce, a little too reminiscent to blood. She also finds a knife but sees that the knives in the kitchen are too small, so her grabbing a bigger one makes you wonder where she got access to such dangerous tools.
However, another part of the trailer happens in her room, where she is seen getting ready and upon her vanity is a photo of her lover(s), making you wonder who the girl truly loves. As she looks into her cabinet, it’s a photo of all of her past victims. Making you begin to question who those photos are and if this narrator can truly be trusted. Until the door opens revealing her husband and she greets him with a knife behind her back.
Anyways, that's all I have for now. I hope you enjoy!
