yes i would lin manuel myself: a production wish list

We all know that my true dreams is being in the entertainment industry, (singing and dancing) but what would I do if I had a big production bucks to do this title sequence. I can't even fathom it. But in the very slim chance that I could be able to do this, I still wanna keep the representation within this project high. So I still want people of color to be on the screen. And if we decide to do this I'm trying to go all the way. Meaning we are going big or going home. So that means we are gonna make this a whole entire movie so we would need people to play the parents of Irene, maybe even commit to the first idea rather than doing all of our location changes.

Actors:

I'm gonna say it myself, I would love to star in this. I never see people who look like me in mainstream media in these slasher films and actually end up alive, cough cough Julia Rehwald. But seeing someone like me and being the first kind of representation in this kind of film would be very big for me.

But for someone to play my father, low-key Kevin Quan. Is that too tall of a request? I don't really know a lot of asian "father-figure" roles. For my mom I'm not really sure, maybe Lea Salonga? Shes also a filipina actress and singer and it would be really cool.

For the best friends I would want people that resemble the original actors of Kashneah and Jadelyn. So maybe Xochil Gomez and McKennah Grace, she's fully white but shes a very successful actress and is around the age range.

Costumes:

For costumes I wanna keep it realistic but I would probably put in more time for the flash back scenes so maybe more visually stark dresses for the homecoming night. I really want the outfits to be realistic to what teenagers my age would wear.

Setting/location:

I want a more "high school" looking highschool if that makes any sense. Like I want the lockers and everything I feel like a typical hallway. I love how our school looks don't get me wrong, but its too colorful or the image I want the hallway to be.

Light/sound/editing:

I really want it to be very similar to normal ambiance lighting, using the lighting that comes naturally in the areas we are at. Meaning that timing is very important, and hopefully we can use non-copyrighted music to put behind our clips because non copyrighted music subjectively sounds better. I don’t know much about really good editors or any renowned ones but for sound I could love to get Ludwig Göransson because he did very well with some well known movies such as Sinners and Black Panther.

slice of life (pt.2) except we are slicing clips: editing post no.2

Hello hello all! This is media mirage back with another blog post! We are almost at the end can you believe it!? But before we get off topic lets talk about why we are here- to talk about the second part four editing process!

Its not secret I am very public with my distant of the editng program "capcut", but thank God I have some amazing team members who were able to see our visions and bring them to life, Kashneah and Hanniyah! Both of them are in the same grade level so it makes them two working on the editing together make more sense, not to mention both of them are the brain behind our camera angles and shots. However, in the non-often times they found themselves at a standstill, me and Jadelyn were there to help with decisions.

Kashneah and Hanniyah spent around three to four hours editing the second half of our title sequence, so at this point we had our waking up scene, the transition to the locker room, the classroom scenes, and the hallway scenes.Which meant we had all of the components to finish editing our title sequence, except for one integral part: the nightmare.

Well we can't just not have the flashback/nightmare scene, that would make no sense story wise, not to mention it would be too short to be considered a title sequence. So while Kashneah and Hanniyah were editing our title sequence, I was working hard towards the logistics of our flashback scene. It needed to look realistic but I can't actually be hurting myself in the process, so I spent that time figuring out fighting choreography, angles where the hits would look realistic, and finally Jadelyn was begging her sister to be our killer.

Alot on our plate isn't there? Anyways that's it for me see you at the next one!

perhaps we overshot? : why we changed our title sequence

Heyyyyyy. So I bet you are all surprised from our initial tradwife thing we had going on to a murdered teenager. Don’t worry, me too. So let’s all address the humongous, bulging elephant in the room- why we changed our title sequence so late.

Let me set the scene for you all. Imagine you are in a panera bread bakery and you just met one of your group members for the first time and you are discussing your ideas for your title sequence and you find out she had a different vision that you and your other group mates had due to the fact she was in her own period. Then we all started talking about how idea for the trad wife would end up being a little difficult.

I mean when we were shooting far we were shooting far. As in get fake blood, bake pie, find a 1950’s style kitchen far. So we had around a month to get all of these materials, props, and figuring out where this is gonna happen, so we all just collectively decided that it wasn’t gonna happen.

Instead, we decided to use the idea Hanniyah had, which was using the idea about a girl who can see otherworldly entities, by talking about it more I decided to being up the idea of the main character being dead, which is the reason she can see the entities and we all really liked that idea so we use stuck with it.

Well thats it for me today hope y'all enjoyed, see y'all in the next one!
