Hello guys! It’s Media Mirage back with another blog post and today we are talking about our lighting in our video today. We used majority of the natural lighting that comes from our sets, such as the school lights, the bathroom lights, and locker room lights. We wanted the present scenes to look very dim, and very lifeless, so we wanted to use less lighting on it. So, we only used our two key lights that we got from Beacon TV for it, this led to some production issues because the lights were powered on through wire, not batteries, so it wasn’t as portable as we thought but we made do with what we can.
The lighting choices were made based on the emotion we wanted to exhibit from our movie. However if we had a bigger budget for our lighting, I wouldn’t have used color grading though the editing software and use more lighting to make sure it looks more natural and less artificial, because a challenge that we went though was that in my olpinnion i thought the filters were too hard on our clips so it looked awkward, so I believe with a better budget we could’ve gotten more lights and a better quality light.
