Hello hello all! It is me, Media Mirage and I am back with another blog post. Today's task was to brainstorm ideas for our movie trailer. Since we didn't have all of our group members that day since Hanniyah wasn't in our class, Kash, the person closest to her, considered what she liked and we made ideas based on our interests.
Today we looked at different movie trailers we could do, but we all knew we wanted to do something huge and from a very different period. We then started talking about movies or shows we enjoyed and I brought up one of my favorite shows, “Why Women Kill”. And how its dark humor makes the show so unassuming and the jokes make me laugh. And then the idea to make the lead girl a killer who kills abusive husbands, for a very long period, right after their wife leaves them. so the plan was to create a title sequence similar to a show like “Wanda Vision” when it was set in the 50s and like the previously mentioned show “Why Women Kill.”
A pro was that it definitely would get us a good grade, given how creative we were, and looking at the past projects, no one was gonna do something surrounding the 50’s due to it being in a completely different time period. But to our surprise, Jadelyn one of our group members had a dress that fit exactly what we had in mind. And so we thought this idea might actually come to fruition.
However a con was how much time and set design it would take, as typical “retro” films are very hard to do right since the set has to be so reminiscence to it in order to pull the viewer in, it needs to seem genuine. however, it needs to be done that way or else it will seem too “costumey”.
